I have never asked my readers for anything but we were hit very hard. A low income trailer park was wiped out. If you can help, please send donations to the site listed below.
On May 2nd, 2010, the City of Liberty & Casey County suffered from a catastrophic flood. In addition to wiping out approximately 80% of our business district on US 127, the flood resulted in many families throughout the county suffering major damage to complete loss of their homes. Dozens of families have lost everything and are now homeless. Most of these families also live below the poverty line and have no insurance.
If you are looking for a good cause where 100% of your donation will go directly to those who need it, please consider helping us out to provide these folks with food, clothing, and shelter.
Donations may be dropped off at Liberty City Hall or mailed to P.O. Box 127 / Liberty, KY 42539 (please make checks payable to “Liberty & Casey County Disaster Relief”).
Please also consider spreading the word about this relief fund with your friends & family. Any & all donations are needed and will be very welcome!
Oh, how terrible. Will contribute & spread the word. This is a great cause for bloggers to take up.
