  2. I have never seen a hummingbird on a perch until now. The ones I have seen have always been in flight. In my home city of Pickering, Ontario the growing season has arrived 3 to 4 weeks early this year. So I have place my hummingbird feeder out to coincide with the weather change. Usually the hummingbirds will appear for only a few weeks the head off further north. Eye Candy

  3. Each year my hummingbird population (at the feeder) seems to increase. If I wear a bright colored hair tie, they dive bomb me when I walk outside.

  4. These little guys are so fun to watch. But they are mean! Very territorial. It's funny to see such a small creature be so aggressive around a feeder. They also have a very strange chirp. Hope you have hours of enjoyment watching them this summer.

  8. Seals & Crofts song - "Hummingbird don't fly away, fly away." Nice song.

    Nice pic.

  10. They are so hard to photograph, great shot! The other day, when I was outside, I had just turned off my camera and put the lens cap on, when a hummingbird whipped over to me, buzzed for 3 seconds above my head (which would have been a perfect shot), and then zipped away again. I was so mad at myself for shutting down my camera!
